This paid training program will focus on serving God and others, nurturing personal gifts, and working with other staff members. It picks up on the discipleship and leadership topics that are part of the Navigators Camp week, and lets participants put those new skills to use as they serve as a junior member of the summer staff team.

Participation is by application and approval of the Summer Camp Director. Applicants must attend Navigators Camp (staying until the staff are dismissed early Friday afternoon) and at least one of the service weeks. The online application is available here.

Please note that, as part of our paid staff, LIT participants will have a longer weekly schedule than the campers. While most of our campers are dismissed on Thursday evenings, our staff will stay until early on Friday afternoons. The extra hours will include times of reflection and worship as a staff team, opportunity to socialize and relax, and other wrap-up/preparation activities. Be sure to plan to stay that extra day for Navigators Camp as well as each of your service weeks!

Participants will get a behind-the-scenes look at summer camp life, as well as gaining confidence and work experience for future job opportunities at Highland or elsewhere!
