Pavilions & Camping

For outdoor gatherings, we have three pavilions that provide shelter for groups of different sizes, 2 campgrounds, and 9 camping cabins. Read more about these seasonal facilities below.

Camping Cabins

Each of the 9 simple A-frame camping cabins has bunk beds for up to 12 people and offers a quaint lodging experience along the stream in the lower camp. Each cabin has electricity, a picnic table, and a fire ring, but no plumbing or AC.

Upper Highland Campground

This campground has 11 tent and RV sites; 2 are primitive sites and the other 9 have water and electric hookups. 4 of the sites with electric also have sewer hookups. Each campsite has a picnic table and a fire ring for outdoor cooking. Groups desiring exclusive access to the area around Mt. Everett Pavilion and bathhouse can reserve the entire campground. For larger groups, several additional sites are available a short distance away.

Lower Highland Campground

This campground has 16 designated campsites, arranged for both group camping and individual use. Water and electric hookups are available at most sites. Site 2 also has sewer hookups. Each campsite has a picnic table and a fire ring for outdoor cooking. Two bathhouses are located within a short walk from anywhere in the Lower Highland Campground. Groups desiring exclusive access to the area may reserve the entire campground, or at least the 8 sites closest to the Tabernacle Pavilion.

Mt. Everett Pavilion

Located in the center of the Upper Highland Campground, this pavilion is suited for groups of 10-50 people. Features a fireplace, refrigerator, picnic tables, and a dishwashing station. A bathhouse adjoins the pavilion.

Sassafras Pavilion

Also known as the kitchen deck, Sassafras provides sheltered seating for groups of 20-100. Features 2 charcoal grills with more than eight square feet of grilling space, plenty of electric outlets, and a large, three-bay sink for dishwashing and clean water. Furnished with several stainless steel tables and 16 picnic tables. Often paired with lodging in the Camping Cabins and/or campsites in the Lower Campground.

Tabernacle Pavilion

Our largest gathering space, for groups of 30-250. Features a large kitchen (containing appliances but no pots, pans, dishes, etc.) and separate BBQ pit on one end. The pavilion area has a built-in stage on the kitchen side and a circular fire pit on the other end. Picnic tables, benches, and folding tables and chairs are available. Often paired with lodging in the Lower Highland Campground and/or Camping Cabins.

Availability of Pavilions and Camping

Use the calendar below to see which of these facilities are booked and which might be available. Note that seasonal facilities are not bookable over the winter, and no facilities are bookable more than 2 years in advance. These calendars are updated about once a week (usually Friday mornings), so it is possible that a facility that appears available has been recently booked. If you request a reservation or a quote, Highland staff will be able to confirm if the dates you are interested in are in fact available. If you like, you can also view availability of ALL facilities.
