Volunteers – Spring 2025

Each year volunteers help us prepare for a new season of camping ministry. This winter we have had three major workdays.

  1. In December, volunteers helped us process huge amounts of firewood.
  2. In early March, a hardworking crew of about from the First Russian Baptist Church descended on Highland with almost 20 volunteers! When they were wrapped up, we had a lot more firewood in the woodsheds, a huge pile of branches ready to burn, and a room converted to camp storage.
  3. In mid-March 20 volunteers showed up to plant 50 tiny trees along Rt 259 and clearing out that treeline (hauling away about 6 trailer loads of limbs, logs, and debris); felled a number of trees that were looking dangerous in the upper and lower grounds; spread mulch in the upper flowerbeds; and installed the boards for the deck and ramp at the Upper Highland Campground bathhouse.

WOW! We offer a big “THANK YOU!” to each volunteer — you made such a big difference!

Check out the work day page to learn about upcoming work days, and sign up to let us know you plan to participate! We will provide a warm lunch and have a variety of jobs available for different ages and skill levels.
