Directions to Highland Retreat from I-81

Coming from the North: From I-81, take exit #264 at New Market. Turn right off the exit ramp onto Rt. 211. Go approximately 6 miles to Timberville. At the first traffic light by the Exxon Station, turn left onto Rt. 42. Go to the third traffic light by Trumbo Electric and turn right onto Rt. 259W. Stay on Rt. 259W for approximately 17 miles. We are located on Rt. 259W on the right, just a 1/2 mile from the West Virginia border.

Coming from the South: From I-81, take exit #257 (the Broadway, Timberville, Mauzy exit). Turn left off exit ramp and go over I-81. At the light, turn right onto Rt. 259. Go approximately 5 miles towards Broadway. At the second traffic light, turn left onto Rt. 259W. Stay on Rt. 259W for approximately 17 miles. We are located on Rt. 259W on the right, just a 1/2 mile from the West Virginia border.

Which entrance should I use?

The south entrance of Highland (Upper Highland Drive) leads to the main office where you would check-in, as well as Mountain View Retreat Center, Mount Everett Pavilion and the Upper Highland campground, and Red Oak Lodge.

The north entrance of Highland (Lower Highland Drive, a little further down Rt. 259W) leads to the Highland Youth Office, youth camp, the Tabernacle and Lower Highland campground, Sassafras Pavilion, the pool, A-frame cabins, and Dogwood Cottage.

Creekside Cottage is located on a small, separate driveway between the two main entrances.
