We have focused a good bit of our attention on the Upper Highland Campground this spring. In addition to ordering brand-new picnic tables and fire rings for many of the campsites, we have also been upgrading electrical service to the whole area. Last summer, we experienced electrical problems that spread from one campsite to the entire east side of the Upper Campground. Rather than just finding a temporary fix, we saw this as an opportunity to improve. Existing 20A sites were upgraded to 30A, and two new 50A sites were added. A new road through the field has also been established, to direct large RVs to the 50A sites with greater ease.
We hope to make more improvements to this special campground over time. Our plans include evaluating our bathhouse needs in the area and then adding several comfortable ‘dry’ cabins with air conditioning. If you want to see these improvements, too, send in a donation with ‘Upper Highland Campground’ in the memo line.
