About every 7 years, Highland has spent a significant amount of money resurfacing Upper Highland Drive, the road that begins at 259 and continues past the office towards Red Oak Lodge. Because asphalt prices are low, this year we decided to pave instead of using prime and seal. The cost of paving is about 60% more, but pavement should last more than twice as long.
The paving work was completed by Partners Excavating over several days, and the new surfaces–all of Upper Highland Drive and the entrance patch at Lower Highland Drive–were open for driving on September 23. It’s a deluxe driving experience, and is sure to be enjoyed by many guests in the months and years to come!
