Highland is looking to fill a vital year-round staff position, with the goal of hiring a Hospitality Manager by April 1, 2022. This is a half time position for most of the year, increasing to three-quarters time for the busy summer season. There would also be opportunity to work additional hours if desired. The Hospitality Manager would need to be on-site at Highland at least one day a week, but may choose to work the majority of their hours at home.
Job Description: The Hospitality Manager will ensure quality guest and camper experiences by offering clean and attractive spaces that meet the needs of our guests. They will offer timely, affordable, and delicious meal service to ensure high guest satisfaction. They will oversee and coordinate a team of qualified housekeeping and food service staff to achieve these goals.
Qualifications: The Hospitality Manager will exhibit organizational and leadership skills, have proven cooking and cleaning experience, and be thoroughly committed to the mission statement and core values of Highland Retreat.
Essential functions and duties will include:
- Scheduling staff appropriately to meet housekeeping and food service needs, and ordering all required supplies while working within a budget.
- Managing inventories in guest facilities and working to maintain attractive, clean, and functional spaces that meet guest needs.
- Overseeing menu planning while considering special dietary needs, and training cooks in the preparation of tasty dishes for guest group meals, summer camps, and Highland fundraising events.
