The boy’s bathhouse addition has begun! Over the last few years, Highland has been making improvements on our pool to maintain safety and increase functionality: installing a pool lift, replacing a pool pump, resurfacing the pool, and purchasing a pool cover. Now, we are working on the next improvement: renovating the pool bathhouse. Plans are in place to improve both sides of the bathhouse, with the major changes happening on the boy’s side.
In these slower winter months, Sam’s Construction LLC has been working on the addition to pool bathhouse. The addition will offer two 12×12 spaces: one a spacious shower room with changing areas for male campers and guests, the second a storage area for the lifeguards. The existing bathhouse will also be refit with new counters, partitions, fixtures, and mirrors. While $20,000 is still needed to renovate the whole bathhouse, only $6,000 is needed to complete the boy’s side. It is looking promising that we’ll get there by summer!
Volunteer labor will also play a key role in the completion the interior of the boy’s bathhouse. Volunteers with talents in tiling, plumbing and electrical work are especially needed, as well as anyone willing to help paint the walls. Contact the main office if you can help!
