Springtime Volunteering

Springtime Volunteering

We need help!

Spring is a busy time for Highland staff. We always have far more projects than we can complete alone. Volunteer work groups, families, and individuals make a huge difference in what we are able to accomplish before the summer season!

Tell us when and how you would like to serve; facilities manager Gordie Shantz will help equip you for a positive service experience. There are so many ways to bless Highland through service: Paint the youth office. Replace the youth office roof. Mulch flower beds. Clean seasonal facilities. Set up the pool for summer. Complete new campsites at Mount Everett. Work on trail maintenance.

You may enjoy the time away.

You can serve at Highland almost any day, but a volunteer discount is available for those who choose to stay for a night or weekend. Volunteer families, youth groups, Sunday school classes, and other work teams can stay in A-frame cabins for free, or enjoy a comfortable cottage or motel-style rooms for a fraction of the normal rate!

Serve and Play

Our special spring service event is Serve and Play, held annually on Mother’s Day weekend (May 12-14, 2017). On Saturday, children, youth, and adults gather to do various work projects around Highland, with lunch provided to all volunteers. Other meal options—including a Saturday evening dinner to celebrate moms—and light, family-friendly programs on Friday and Saturday nights are available for those who are interested. Register here for this special weekend.
